During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period， an isomorphic transformation took place in the whole ecumene and various basic fields， that is， transforming from intermediary to directness， from collective to individuality. In the field of thought， the historical experience of the holy kings and his rituals were previously regarded as exemplary and normative mediators， but during these periods there was a tendency to eliminate such mediators and rely on individual reason to discourse directly. In the field of self-cultivation， the emphasis on the attainment of human beings with the help of the ancient history and rituals of the holy kings has changed to the emphasis on direct communication with tiandao天道 through the individual’s mind； in the field of institutions， a basic transformation has taken place from the fengjian封建 system to the junxian郡县 system， which is embodied in politics and military， economy， family， and sacrifice. The fengjian system tends to be intermediary and collective， while the junxian system embodies directness and individuality. This isomorphic change during the the periods of Zhou and Qin can be called the transformation from the fengjian model to the junxian model， which is the essence of the transformation of civilization during the periods of Zhou and Qin. Although civilization entered the junxian model， the fengjian element was still retained， as seen in the jingxue经学. This has created an exemplary type of civilization， that is， the Chinese-type civilization.
